Bikini or NOTHING!

That’s what I’d bring if I were as fit as you are. Unless you also bring lots of money for spa treatment while there, I’d say get your waxing needs taken care of, of course, and pedicure. Pedicure is important so you can take pictures of your own toes while lounging on the beach with the ocean in the background.

*sigh*

p.s. I am 1/4 Japanese too! It’s my left foot!

Sunscreen (lots and lots), aloe (at least one burn is inevitable), TWO swim suits (things just don’t dry out quickly there), ditto on the big bag, I took 2 bandanas for bad beach hair tamers since I don’t like to wear hats, water shoes and hiking shoes/boots that you don’t mind ruining if you plan to hike (the mud there is a thing unto itself).

According to friends of ours who lived in Hawaii for many many years, I would have to say I’d pack a jacket and lots of money. I’m practical like that.

I could not go without my sunglasses (which I always either forget, break, or lose), a brazilian & boy toy. Bcuz obviously.

A Big Tote Bag!! so that you can CARRY all your sunglasses, towel, beach cover up, hat, sunblock, flip flops, book, ipod, bla bla…
that’s the worst thing to forget…trust me! you either end up carrying everything…whata mess. or you’re on the beach with a weird rolling suitcase. both = not cool.

I will be packing for a tropical vacation soon! And Sunscreen (SPF 30 and SPF 55) is high on my list of things that I MUST take. And a bikini.
And I feel your pain on the “white face” thing. Of course, I have Irish/German/Croatian blood, so I had no hope. I went to Florida last weekend, and got a pedicure before I went. When the woman started on the leg massage part of the pedicure, she said “oooooh you are SO WHITE”. She repeated it about 3 times, and I can only imagine what she was saying about my white-ness to the other pedicurists in viatnamese!
