i have a *slight* obsession. with wind thingys.
4 / 28 / 2010I have waited YEARS people. YEARS…to get one of these pictures.

Y-E-A-R-S
Y to the E to the ARS.
(I cannot stress that enough. Can you tell?)
I almost peed myself when I realized I would FINALLY get a photo to call my own.
Peed myself as in: this is how the conversation went for the 2+ hour drive to my obsession:
Me: Wind thingys! Wind thingys! We’re going to see the WIND THINGYS!!!!!!!
Tim: Keep your panties on, woman. Yes. We’re *going* to see them. And by the way? They’re called wind turbines. Not “thingys.”
Me: Whatever…Hey! Guess what?! Guess what?!?!? We’re going to seeeeeeeeeeee the wind thingys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(and FYI for all those keeping score: the first picture is Tim’s…the second is mine)
Thanks, South Point. You’ve allowed me to further renew my unhealthy desire and, at the same time, drive Tim to the edge of his insanity.
Also? Kind of a good call, Hawaii, having the wind turbines (thingys!!!!) located there.
Why?
This:

It’s a tree.
Only…blown into a permanent horizontal position.
In summary:
Wind thingys(!!!!!!!) + horizontal trees = super win

hahahaha NICE! I was gonna say… I hate wind turbines.. I mean, I’m sure they are great for the environment and what not… but they creep me out for some reason. Wind THINGIES on the other hand are awesome!
LOL you are crazy girl. God, I really want you and Tim to come down to Fort Lauderdale and drink some adult beverages with my friends and I so I can laugh my ass off at the shit that comes out of your mouth.
Can we make this happen??
Oh, and if I’M not good enough for a reason to visit…I BET I could get you a meeting with Baby Monkey Chloe.
HA!
That tree is the coolest thing ever.
what is it? its a THINGYYYYYYYY! i use that word a lot and still everyone understands me.
gosh, we’re so much alike, lol.
that tree is way cool!!!
Love that tree!
Oh and I pretty much call anything and everything a thingy. The best part? My hubby always knows exactly what I’m talking about. I’ve corrupted him, clearly.
Haha. You would love Kansas. We have tons of thingys.
We also have tons of wind, in case you wondered.
Here we love our thingys so much we want to fix them up and keep them even when they are old and a bit broken

Thingys fascintate me as well. This almost made me feel normal.
I went to college in West Texas where they have a whole department dedicated to wind studies… They had a lot of those thingys!
oooh I we have tons of those things around here. I have lots of pictures. Fields full of them just turning away. I happen to know someone who is petrified that one day they will come off and flying around chopping peoples limbs off. Godo thought, I know.
I love how the tree looks like it is captured moving in slow motion…..perhaps it is an Ent? I think wind turbines look majestic swooping their arms around like they just don’t care.
I love the wind thingies too! When we were driving to GA last year, I also got to see them hauled on semis, in pieces. There were a few places where the wind thingies went on for miles (Eastern Oregon being one). But, perhaps not enough of the US is using them just yet. I know we don’t get enough wind here, south of the airport, year round. (Now in winter and early spring? That’s a different story, right?)
