the slobbering infidel
4 / 01 / 2011This is what happens when you win a caption contest.
An entire day. An ENTIRE POST.
Dedicated to you.
(Somebody really should check my medication)
So, today, kids, we’re going to learn all about Hamlet’s Mistress.
She and her blog are an eclectic, certainly never what you would expect kind of activity. BLAM! Somebody just won something for a contest they didn’t know was happening. BLAM! It’s time to go off on an unsuspecting victim. BLAM! I actually have a nice side. BLAM!
See what I mean?
The rest of this post, since today really is HER DAY, is straight from the lovely mouth of Amy. I’ll be back on Sunday for Sex and the City Sunday. We’ll be in the valley of 20-something guys…which will be…interesting, to say the least.
Without further ado (which seems like an appropriate word, considering…), I give you Amy.
“I also cite pithy dialogue between me and my husband from time to time…. Um… sometimes I put up guess the movie quotes… oh and I randomly give stuff away… like for fun. Because I want people to love me and of course, the quickest way to peoples’ hearts? Bribery, obviously.” (editor’s note: Read: Sarcasm)
And a few of Amy’s most favorite ever posts she’s written:
Battle of the double X chromosomes
And I just *had* to do the obligatory Q&A.
(If you have ever seen Man v. Food, think of these questions in the same kind of sarcastic tone they do at the end of each show)
(If you haven’t seen Man v. Food, well, these questions are sarcastic. Just FYI)
How did you come up with such a great caption?
The rule of thumb always is know your audience. Now you’ve never really indicated that Tim is overly geeky,(or maybe you have?)or anything. But he IS a man and men like Batman, Star Wars, Spiderman… you know the real good vs. evil stuff. And of course you can never go wrong with the word “infidel”… it’s just begs to be screamed by an evil overlord, does it not? Oh and I have cats… they’re total assholes.
Why did you start blogging?
Which time? No seriously, I’ve had probably 2 or 3 other blogs before Hamlet’s Mistress and none of them felt quite right. None of them felt like me. So finally, I decided hell with blogging and stopped. I couldn’t stay away, though, and I decided to go anonymous with the blogging. It was the only way I felt like I could really be me. And dammit, I have stuff to say! I’ve had Hamlet’s Mistress going since mid-July 2010 and I love it. It feels comfortable.
What is your favorite part of blogging?
Comments!!! Wait, is that too self-serving of an answer? Is my desperate need to be liked showing? Yes? Hmmm… I like writing for me. To connect with my inner self and try to understand who I am on a deeper level. Whether 1000 people read a day or none, it makes no nevermind to me… because I write… for me. Yup, utter BS… it’s the comments and the meeting of new people… like you, who with this post is helping me move one step closer with my master plan to be queen of the universe
Who are you favorite bloggers? Why? (The first paragraph is the best. Just sayin)
You, of course, because whether you believe or not, write with purpose. You don’t think you do, but it shines through the writing. I love writers who let you know who they are with their writing just by way the write. You do that. Oh and? You’re witty as hell. And you didn’t even pay me to say that.
Brooke @ txtingmrdarcy - Ah, sweet Brooke. I adore her. She lives fairly close to me, though I’ve never met her in person, so I think I feel a bond just because we’re geographically close. She’s funny and quirky and makes me laugh. And she has a new puppy!! So, yeah.
Aunt Becky @ mommywantsvodka – I love her heart. She’s funny as shit, too. But I love her heart, most.
There are others, of course. The Bloggess, What Passes for Sane on a Normal Day, and many others (editor’s note: The “many others” cannot feasibly be linked since, well, yah)
A cause dear to my heart because I’ve experienced this awesome place first hand and am now working behind the scenes is BandBackTogether. It is an amazing, safe, supportive and loving place to talk about the things no one wants anyone to talk about. It’s a contributory blog for anyone that has something to say.
So, go on and check out Amy and see what random bit of information she has for us on her blog today. Because, really, no one ever knows.
Not even Amy.
It is always surprise for all of us. Oh, and she loves comments, remember? Just FYI. I don’t want to be THAT GIRL who gets ravaged on her blog because MY blog about HER blog didn’t get any comments (and if you really think Amy would ravage me, then A: you know nothing about Amy and B: my brain never went there). What are you waiting for? Go on…go say something nice to Amy. She won the caption contest. This is her reward!
Editor’s Note: Happy Friday, People! Tim’s parents are in town…which has nothing to do with Friday…or with you being happy.

Congrats Amy! I like the word infidel, now “silence I keel you”. Haha, if you don’ get that joke check out Jeff Dunham’s Achmed the dead Terroist ventriloquist act… Totally worth it!
Yay for Saturday!
Thanks, Brandy! I’m totally famous now. I feel different already…
